PURCHASING A MICROCURRENT DEVICE

Purchasing an electrotherapy device can be a daunting experience. This may be true even for the most experienced practitioner. Manufacturers and distributors may offer very limited training on the operation of the device. Electrotherapy units are bought and never used because practitioners do not receive adequate training and support to effectively achieve results. Prior to purchasing a microcurrent device, consider the following:

1. The ability to customize your treatment for pain related conditions is always desirable. Patients can be sensitive to current even at a very low setting. Preprogrammed frequencies for facial rejuvenation streamline treatments by simply and easily pressing a button. A device which offers a broad range of treatment parameters allowing for setting your own specifications (frequency, intensity, polarity) along with preset programs offers the best of both worlds.

2. Microcurrent units vary in price and size. Inexpensive units display limited treatment options. Professional size equipment can cost thousands of dollars but commonly offer versatility in frequency, current range (intensity), polarity, galvanic skin response meters. as well as many other features.

3. Purchase a unit that offers accessories such as probes (aka wands), pads and gloves that meet your treatment needs.

4. Seller personnel should have a clear understanding of microcurrent and be able to answer all of your questions. After purchase, the seller should provide ongoing technical support.

5. The FDA approves devices for sale in difference categories such as cosmetic, medical and home use. Be sure to purchase a device that is FDA approved for your professional license.
